We understand that hiring a plumber is a big deal. After all, you will be trusting them with one of the most important systems in your home. If you hire the wrong plumber, it can end in an even costlier job. Below are some tips to help you get it right the first time.
Licensed and Insured

Length of Time in Business
Another good question to ask is, how long has this plumbing company been in business? If they have been in business for a long time, it is definitely a good sign. FixZit Man Plumbing, Heating and Cooling has been in business since 1978.

While spring brings the promise of warm weather and longer days, it also brings a variety of conditions that can include heavy rains, severe weather, and rapid snowmelt that can increase your flood risk. Don’t be caught off guard. Get the facts. Know the risks. Take action to protect yourself, your family, your business, and your finances—before a weather event occurs and it’s too late.
KNOW YOUR RISK Everyone is at risk for spring flooding, yet many remain unprotected. Just a few inches of water can cause tens of thousands of dollars in damage. Between 2006 and 2010, the average flood claim was nearly $34,000. That’s more than many survivors can afford to pay out of pocket for damages due to flooding, and without flood insurance, many must cover the costs to repair or rebuild on their own. Consider your risk and the consequences of a flood event, and make the choice to protect yourself.

Know where to go when trouble happens. Should plumbing fail, will you know how to stop the flood? Locate the main shut-off valve for the home water supply. If it's in a dark, hidden, or hard-to-reach place, gather any tools you'll need for a quick shut-off, and store them nearby. There's nothing like the frustration of a missing flashlight or a misplaced shut-off key when water's pouring down the stairs from a broken pipe.

With all of the cookouts, celebrations, and swimming pool get-togethers, the summer is very brutal towards your disposal.
To preserve its life and efficiency, you should always be very conscientious of what you put down there.
The garbage disposal is not as durable as you may think.
Avoid placing large or fibrous items down the drain, and always run cold water for a few seconds before and after you turn on the disposal.
With regards to the washing machine, because there is a dramatic increase in outdoor activities during the summer, clothes need washing that much more. To keep that washing machine in tip-top shape, regularly inspect the various hoses, keeping an eye out for any bulges or kinks in the line. These preventative measures will help preserve the life expectancy of your appliances.

Most people breathe a sigh of relief when they are able to turn off their heating for the summer. But not needing to use your home heating system for a few months doesn't mean you should forget all about it. The summer is the best time to have your boiler serviced, get any pipe repairs done, add an extra radiator to eliminate a cold spot, or just check that everything's in perfect working order.
Paying for a thorough check of your hot water and heating system in the summer could save you money next winter if it reveals any efficiency problems. FixZit Man will also carry out safety checks to minimize any risks of carbon monoxide poisoning, gas leaks, and fire.
